 BlueScope Butler China built multi-functional BUTLER research centers in Songjiang, Tianjin and Guangzhou Plants. These research centers are fully equipped with advanced testing machines. All the materials and components samples must be tested by BUTLER research centers to assure they meet the company standard specifications.



1.Accelerated Weathering Tester simulate sunlight, QUV and rain to determine resistance to weathering of coil coating and other material. Degradation of coating films caused by accelerated weathering test is much faster than natural weathering.

   

2.Salt Spray Corrosion Cabinet simulate marine atmosphere environment to determine resistance to salt spray of prepainted panel and other material under conditions of high humidity and salt concentrations. Observe rust, blister of sample after a period of test.

   

3. Corrosion Testing Chamber simulate acid rain environment to determine the corrosion resistance of prepainted panel and other material by exposure to condensation moisture containing sulfur dioxide (SO2). Observe pitting, crack, blister, color change of sample after a period of test.

   

4. Temperature Humidity Chamber simulate high temperature and high humidity environment to determine resistance to humidity of prepainted panel and other material. Observe blister, fading, loss of adhesion, rust of sample after a period of test.

   

5. Electro-Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine is used for test tension, bend of plates and bolts by hydraulic loading principle.

6. Taber Abraser is used for determination resistance to abrasion of coating by abrading spinning test sample under weight load in grams placed on the wheels. Evaluating the ability of abrasion resistance of coil coating during manufacturing and service.

   

7. Impact Testing Instrument is used for determination resistance to impact of coating by using different heights fall. Evaluating the ability of resistance impact of coil coating during manufacturing and service.

 

 

8. Coating Thickness Gauge is nondestructive coating thickness measurement of all nonmagnetic coating layers, such as lacquer and varnish, paint zinc...on steel and iron.

9. Color Comparison Cabinet is visual appraisal of color difference of coil coating. It is used for color match of incoming material and different batch materials.

10. Spectrophotometer automatically measures color and color difference of coil coating. It is used for color match of incoming material and different batch materials. It also used for measure color change of coil coating before and after nature weathering and accelerated weathering, evaluating resistance to weathering of coating.

11. Cross Hatch Cutters determines the adhesion between coating and substrate by cross-cut tape test.

12. Paint Inspection Gauge measures film thickness of coating using microscope observation precision angular cuts in the coating film.

13. The Electronic Analytical Balance is used for weighing before and after coating abrasion and dissolving galvanization.

14. Paint Scratch Instrument measures the scratch hardness by the loading needle to cut the coating.

15. Paint Hardness by Pencil is used for measurement film hardness by pencil hardness. Evaluating the ability of resistance damage of prepainted panel during manufacturing and service.

16. Tri-Microgloss (20/60/85 degrees) is used for measure specular gloss of coating. It also used for measure gloss change of coil coating before and after nature weathering and accelerated weathering, assess resistance to weathering.
